Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp joined the exclusive club of elite managers with more than 200 wins in the Premier League
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is now part of the elite managers after registering his 200th win in the Premier League. The exclusive club only contain Pep Guardiola, Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, David Moyes, and Harry Redknapp.
The remarkable achievement is more special considering the team he acquired from ex-manager Brendan Rodgers in 2015. The 56-year-old gradually changed the team with a limited transfer budget, competing with high-spending powerhouse clubs in the Premier League.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal dwarf Liverpool when it comes to net spending in the past decade. Klopp enhanced the players he possessed, performing way above their expected potential with sheer will and a strong mentality. The German had the charisma and the tactical acumen to get the best out of the squad.
Liverpool crossed 90 points in 2018-19, 2019-2020 and the 2021-22 Premier League season, competing with Man City till the end. The Reds won the Premier League in 2019-20 by utterly dominating other teams, finishing with 99 points.
Premier League reported that Klopp managed the feat only second to Guardiola in terms of matches they took to reach the figure. Considering the 115 financial breach charges levied against Man City and their well-documented spending power, Klopp’s reign has been remarkable.
The Reds are currently at the top of the Premier League table once again despite struggling last season. Klopp had to revamp the squad on a limited budget with shrewd transfer strategies, signing quality players at respectable prices.

Before the League underwent a renaming to the Premier League, Klopp achieved 200 victories, establishing himself as the fastest Liverpool manager to reach this milestone. The 56-year-old surpassed Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and Tom Watson by achieving wins in just 318 games (h/t X/@LFC).
