Jurgen Klopp outlines major hurdle as a depleted Liverpool squad continue to fight on all fronts

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp highlights the hectic schedule while accepting the satisfaction of achieving a late victory against Nottingham Forest

Jurgen Klopp outlined the congested fixture as taking a toll while gladly accepting the late winning goal against Nottingham Forest. The Reds beat Forest 0-1 away in the Premier League clash to remain at the top of the table.

Liverpool are facing a genuine threat to their season with multiple important senior team players injured. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Stefan Bajcetic are the long-term absentees. Furthermore, Mohamed Salah missed the matchday squad against Forest and he is still under observation as he recovers.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez and Wataru Endo returned from injury during the second half of the game. Klopp has successfully deployed Liverpool academy players, taking the injury crisis as an opportunity to give them a crucial experience.

The 56-year-old has always relied on presenting opportunities to the youngsters instead of relying on transfer windows during his tenure. Nevertheless, the youngsters are also playing through exhaustion as the congested fixture period continues, starting from an away game against Brentford.

The Reds played 120 minutes of football against Chelsea in the 1-0 Carabao Cup victory last week. They played Luton Town in midweek before the Carabao Cup while the Chelsea team enjoyed a week’s rest.

), Klopp responded to a reporter’s question about the satisfaction of winning from a late goal. He said:

“Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Four games in 11 days, come on. Five in 15. It’s really tough. It’s tough anyway, but with our squad situation it’s super-tough. How the boys fought through that is really special. That we don’t come here today and just play them out of the stadium and they don’t find the exit anymore and stuff like this, that was clear. The fourth game was the toughest. It was really an unbelievable effort. “

Klopp has used the Reds squad impressively, combined with the consistent opportunities for the academy players. The youngsters have repaid the faith shown by their manager by maintaining a strong form, showcasing their formidable mentality.
