Outgoing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke about the upcoming fixture against Manchester City, in what could prove to be the biggest game of his career on Merseyside. Currently going toe-to-toe against Manchester City and Arsenal for the league title in his final season in English football, the upcoming game against Pep Guardiola’s side will largely determine whether or not Klopp has multiple Premier League titles to his name.

We hope that our X-Factor in Anfield comes into play and creates a hostile environment for City to play in. Even last season, we were clearly not at our best, but two of our biggest games last season, against the bunch of clubs from Manchester, beat them both at home. Mohamed Salah’s individual brilliance took us over the line against Manchester City and United, boy oh boy, what a game, eh? 7-0! That game will go down as the greatest game played at Anfield under Klopp.

Time and time again, Anfield has certainly proven to be the extra player on the field for us. The 12th man, our fans, the Kop; there’s a reason why so many managers and plenty of other players have mentioned the hallowed stadium as the toughest ever to play in. With a league title to play for, there remains very little doubt that Anfield will be roaring this Sunday.

It’s good, massive, energising. These are games you want to play, to watch. Anfield for us is a massive, massive factor. The people will [help us].”
