Liverpool star’s self-critical assessment of performances last season shows maturity and readiness for the future

Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott expressed dissatisfaction with his contribution this season

Harvey Elliott expressed his dissatisfaction with his contribution to Liverpool so far this season, expecting more in the remaining games. The young forward turns 21 on 4th April and he already has ample senior team experience at the club.

Harvey played a crucial role this season, showcasing his versatility and consistently delivering performances amid a severe injury crisis. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has continuously provided opportunity to Elliott and he has lived up to his manager’s faith.

Elliott has played as a right winger, central midfielder and as an attacking midfielder according to the requirement by Klopp. He featured in numerous games during the congested period that started from Brentford’s win in February until the March international break.

Liverpool star Harvey Elliott has played a pivotal role for the club this season.

The 20-year-old has made 41 appearances in all competitions, contributing with three goals and eight assists this season. Elliott played a crucial role in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea, playing 120 minutes of the game.

Elliott’s non-stop work ethic during games and his influence on the right side have earned him praise. He has the technical quality to control the ball in tight spaces and also link up with teammates to create opportunities.

Elliott, speaking at the AXA Training Centre to Liverpoolfc.com, expressed his dissatisfaction with his own contribution this season. He said:

“Confidence-wise, it’s just getting bigger and bigger each and every game. For me, it’s massive. It’s what I’m judged on. I think last season I didn’t do it enough. There’s still a little bit left of the season to go so I’m still always wanting more, I’m not satisfied with what I have. I just need to keep going and keep building on it.”

Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League, behind Arsenal in goal difference with 10 games remaining. They will also play Italian side Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-finals in April with the intention of winning that competition.
