Jurgen Klopp offers encouraging update on injured Liverpool star who is now back in full training

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provides a positive injury update on Curtis Jones

Believe it or not, Liverpool are having a very quiet season. Even though Jurgen Klopp and his Reds are leading the league and that’s all merry, when it comes to individual brilliance, no particular player has stood out from the Reds, and not even a lot of pundits seem to take any of Liverpool’s midfielders seriously when it comes to the best in the league. The likes of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott have been brilliant workhorses who have not got enough credit, even from the Liverpool fanbase at times.

Having seen himself sidelined due to an ankle injury against Brentford earlier this season, there seems to be positive news springing out of the camp at Kirkby when it comes to Jones

, and here is what Klopp had to say about him via ECHO:

“In full training is Curtis,”

“So he trained with us on Saturday but then had an extra [session] because the minus-1 session (day before the game) is not the intensity that Curtis needed.”

“So he was with us and then had an extra shift. So he will be in full training but then exactly for the game let me have a look on that. All the others, slowly but surely but not yet [for Thursday].”

The 23-year-old central midfielder has been top drawer this season, playing the “Gini Wijnaldum role” to literal perfection. Playing out from the left side of central midfield, Curtis’ ability to control possession of the ball, recycle it and create the odd chance out of nothing has been instrumental to the Reds’ success this season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provides a positive injury update on Curtis Jones.

C’mon, CJ!

He has five goals and three assists in 28 appearances across all competitions this season. His imminent return from injury will surely come as a timely boost for Liverpool who do not have a good number of fit midfielders anyway.

Just to hear that he’s back in full training is a testament to his dedication and resilience in overcoming the setback of his ankle injury earlier in the season.

It’s a testament to his character that he’s been able to bounce back from such adversity and return to the fold stronger than ever. And with the business end of the season fast approaching, his presence in midfield will be invaluable as we look to maintain our charge for silverware on multiple fronts.

To think of it, this was a scary game with so many injury issues.

More Liverpool news

As Klopp rightly points out, having Curtis back in full training is a significant boost for the team. His energy, creativity, and work rate will add a new dimension to our midfield, providing us with the depth and quality needed to navigate the challenges that lie ahead. So, while the spotlight may not always be on Curtis Jones, his importance to this Liverpool side cannot be overstated. As we enter the business end of the season, having him back in the mix will undoubtedly give us a much-needed lift as we continue our pursuit of glory.
