Liverpool could turn to Juventus ace to replace Mohamed Salah

According to Corriere dello Sport (h/t Chronicle Live), Newcastle United and Liverpool are on red alert after it was claimed in Italy that Juventus were ready to accept a large offer for forward Federico Chiesa. The Italian is a prime target for the Reds.

The Italian international is expected to receive bids this summer, as Juventus considers selling one of its key assets to balance the club’s finances.

Jurgen Klopp’s side is credited with interest in the 26-year-old Italy international, who has one more year left on his current contract in Turin.

Life after Salah

Liverpool are preparing themselves for life after their superstar Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian star attacker is receiving tempting offers from Saudi club Al Ittihad of around £150million.

Liverpool do not have the financial resources to compete with the offers from Saudi clubs. Therefore, if Salah generates interest in a move, Liverpool may eventually have to let the star go. Consequently, Liverpool have begun looking for replacements for Salah.

Chiesa is thought to be available for around €40 million. He primarily plays as a left-sided forward or a second striker, making him a potential candidate for replacing Salah at Anfield.

Few would deny Chiesa’s abilities, and he would undoubtedly be an excellent addition to most of Europe’s elite clubs. However, there are valid questions about whether he is precisely what Liverpool needs at this moment.
