Young Liverpool forward says he finds his game similar to that of Philippe Coutinho

Former Liverpool star, Philippe Coutinho might not have won anything for the club but his peak at Anfield makes him one of the club’s best players in recent history. Everything has gone in a downward spiral for the Brazilian ever since he left the Reds.

His record-breaking transfer to FC Barcelona will likely be remembered as the biggest failure in the club’s history. However, his time at Liverpool will be remembered as one of the most impressive peaks in recent history.

Coutinho made 201 appearances for Liverpool recording 54 goals and 45 assists. The Reds’ young star, Fabio Carvalho is a huge fan of the Brazilian midfielder and says he watches his video to this day. Here’s what he had to say about the 31-year-old while speaking to ECHO. (h/t Liverpool.com)

“Just watching him, it’s kind of my style of football. It’s obviously not the exact same because everyone is different, but I try to learn from the best and he’s certainly been one of the best in the past few years for Liverpool”

Carvalho is often compared to the Brazilian midfielder and since he is a huge fan of Coutinho he treats the comparisons as a huge compliment. There is a lot of similarity in the way that both players play the beautiful game.

What Carvalho needs now more than ever is more playing time. He is a promising player and has been getting better over time. His stint with Hull City has also been fruitful, the 21-year-old has made 20 appearances for the Championship side, recording 9 goals and two assists.

Carvalho has a bright future ahead of him if he continues to play how he has with Hull City.

The Portuguese midfielder will be returning to Anfield this summer and will join the squad under new manager, Arne Slot. Hopefully, the Dutch coach will be giving more minutes to the 21-year-old.
