Jurgen Klopp could be headed back to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund after Liverpool exit
Now that his days at Anfield are over, it’ll be interesting to see where former Bundesliga manager, Jurgen Klopp ends up in the future. The German is leaving England as a Liverpool legend and does not intend to come back to English shores.
Moreover, whatever Klopp does next won’t be immediate as he plans on taking a break for at least one whole season. The German has also hinted that this could be it for him and he can seek retirement depending on how things go from here on forward.
But Gary Lineker is not buying it, he says that there has been some talk suggesting a sensational Bundesliga return for Klopp. Alan Shearer also stood in agreement while the two spoke on The Rest is Football podcast. Let’s have a look.
“I heard a little rumour that he might end up being president of Borussia Dortmund, which would be amazing.”
Lineker says the job can be extremely demanding so Klopp will most likely be getting some rest for the time being. However, he also predicts that there will be a battle for the German manager in a year’s time when he is ready to come back.
Alan Shearer also pipped in, confirming that he too has heard the same rumour regarding Klopp. A legend at Dortmund, a return to the club where he eventually became well know at would be a fitting end to his career. While it is unlikely to be as a manager, we hope the new role will be less taxing. There is little more one can ask of the great man.
“I heard the same, yeah.”
So his becoming president of Borussia Dortmund will surely send cheers surging throughout Singal Iduna Park. However, we’ll have to wait and see what Klopp decides. After all, the only thing on his mind at the moment is a long break. God knows, he has earned it.
