La Liga giants looking to boost their offence by signing Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez
According to Fichajes, La Liga giants Barcelona are looking to bolster their offensive side and their recent plans indicate that they are working on a deal with Liverpool for the transfer of Darwin Nunez on loan.
It has been undoubtedly a rough season for the Uruguayan international, leading to a lot of people raising questions about his performance. Despite improving his numbers and putting up 18 goals and 13 assists this season, his form has fallen off since March, coinciding with the Reds’ season falling apart.
A major reason for Nunez’s struggles is his indecisiveness in front of the goal. Add to it a medley of poor luck and one can see why he is not at his best. Deleting all mention of Liverpool bar one on Instagram will also have rubbed fans off the wrong way, not helping matters at all.
As things stand, Barcelona could offer him a way out. The Spaniards are keen to do away with Robert Lewandowski’s €30 million salary and are keen to bring in other players who can have better value for money. Given their financial situation, however, Barcelona are in no position to go big.
A move to Barcelona could be what Nunbez needs to get his confidence back and get his head back in order. However, a loan deal will do Liverpool no favours. Nunez is a difficult player at times to deal with but his talent is undeniable. All he needs is for Arne Slot to get into his head and work his magic.
The Dutchman helped accelerate Santiago Gimenez’s numbers at Feyenoord and could now prove to be Nunez’s saviour at Anfield. Still just 24, the Uruguayan has the best years of his career ahead of him and working under Slot could be the pivotal moment in his career in red.

Liverpool have no need to loan Nunez out, let alone to Barcelona. There si little to be gained for the club either in the short or long runs. Nunez is a player on the brink of exploding and the Reds should ensure that happens at Anfield and not elsewhere.
