Rival star bids farewell to Liverpool legend, Jurgen Klopp
It was a heavy day at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp said his goodbyes to the Liverpool crowd yesterday. The German manager signed off in style by getting a 2-0 win over Wolves. His time with the Reds has been greatly appreciated by the fans but the praise doesn’t end there.
Many people from outside the club have also thanked Klopp for his services. Richarlison who played numerous derby matches against The German during his time with Everton also had a message. It was a classy move by the Brazilian who the Liverpool crowd loves to hate.
However, the rivalry only extends to the pitch and not beyond it. Richarlison made this clear as he wrote a farewell message to Klopp and shared it on his Instagram story.
Some very high praise from a rival who believes Klopp is one of the greatest managers he has ever seen. If you ask anyone at Anfield they’ll call the German one of the greatest managers. They have reason to as well, as Klopp has established the team as a force in both Domestic and European competitions.
People will always recount how the German-led Liverpool to a Premier League title and the Champions League. However, to truly recognize his greatness it has to be mentioned that Klopp was four games away from turning it into three PL titles and three UCLs.
Even more legendary was the 2019/20 season for the Reds. Klopp took his team to every final they could’ve played during that particular season. A feat that will be hard to match for almost anyone around the world.
Richarlison has little love for Liverpool and we cannot blame him given his allegiance to Everton. However, he too cannot deny the impact Klopp has had not just in red but also on the sport and society as a whole. It is fitting that rivalries are put aside to give the German the respect and recognition he duly deserves.
