Liverpool could lose out on summer target if they don’t make a decision soon
As reported by Liverpool Echo, Liverpool only have a month lift if they wish to trigger the £100m release clause of Bruno Guimaraes. The 26-year-old Premier League midfielder is contracted to Newcastle United till 2028.
If the Reds don’t trigger his clause in time, they might have to deal with a number of other clubs for the Brazilian’s signature. Moreover, Newcastle could potentially force them to pay a price exceeding £100m since they have a strong position once the clause expires.
If Liverpool chooses to activate Guimaraes’ release clause they would have to pay a sum of £100m in instalments to Newcastle. This would be very beneficial arrangement for them since Bruno is a player of the highest quality.
This past season Guimaraes made 50 appearances for Newcastle recording a total of seven goals and 10 assists for his team. He is an excellent distributor and is a highly intelligent player as well. Bruno’s positioning in the middle helps him do a lot of damage in games.
Liverpool are aware of his excellent qualities and if a deal materializes we could see him starting for the team when the next season kicks off. However, one thing we haven’t considered is how the Reds operate in the transfer market.
We will seldom see the Anfield squad pay a ridiculous price like £100m for a player. Their tight hand over the dough is unlikely to change for Bruno Guimaraes.
