€70m is the asking price for Liverpool target who would fit into Arne Slot’s midfield
As reported by Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, it would cost Liverpool at least €70m for a deal surrounding PL ace, Douglas Luiz. The 26-year-old is coming off an excellent campaign for Aston Villa that has helped him garnered interest from a number of clubs.
Luiz made 56 appearances last season, recording an even 10 goals and 10 assists for his team. His dominance in the middle of the pitch has led to interest from Juventus, Arsenal, and Manchester United along with Liverpool.
The Brazilian midfielder has all the qualities a team would want in a Premier League midfielder. He’s not sloppy with the ball, provides excellent cover to the back-line, does an excellent job at distributing the ball and most importantly is a massive threat in the final third.
Arne Slot, would be gaining a player similar to the profile of Quinten Timber. Now the 22-year-old was giving in performance after performance for Feyenoord, Luiz on the other hand does it for PL side, Aston Villa which is massive.
When the team needs more reassurance on defence they can lean on Wataru Endo. But, when offence is the need of the hour a midfield pairing of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Douglas Luiz would be a force to be reckoned with.
It is safe to say that the Brazilian has all the tools to be a success at Anfield. However, Luiz’s €70m price tag will make it Liverpool to freely operate the transfer market this summer. So, the team has a big decision to make before they approach Luiz.
