Liverpool target’s stance on future is good news for the Reds

Liverpool target, Joao Neves could be moving on from SL Benfica this summer. However, any deal for the 19-year-old will not come cheap as the Portuguese have set a €120m price tag on the midfielder. A high price for one of the biggest talents in the world.

Neves made 55 appearances last season and even ended up making five-goal contributions. He did all of this while primarily playing as a defensive midfielder. Many teams would be much better off with a player of his quality in the lineup.

Till now there was some doubt regarding the future of Neves. Talks suggested that the 19-year-old might not be ready to move on just yet. However, Neves has now taken a stance on his future which gives hope to the teams trying to get him. Let’s have a look at what he had to say. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

Staying at Benfica next year? I can’t promise anything for next season,”

Neves added that his wish for next season is to stay at Benfica. However, it’s him saying he can’t make any promises that give hope to the fans for his arrival. The 19-year-old finished his statement by saying he will see and decide but you never know.

From the looks of it, Neves is preparing for a move. He could move depending on what kind of offer is presented to him by the other teams. The Portuguese midfielder is certainly ready for a move to the top flight. It’ll be interesting to see whether something materializes this summer.

The Reds will not have an easy time signing Neves since Man City, Manchester United, and Arsenal are also interested in the 19-year-old.
