The possibility of Liverpool making a deal for £70m-rated Juventus striker is now very real
As reported by Italian outlet Sky Italia, Liverpool target, Federico Chiesa is not a plan of Thiago Motta’s plans at Juventus. This means that the Reds could possibly get the ‘green light’ to make a deal for Italian striker this summer.
Sky Italia also believes that Chiesa is evaluated at £70m which would make getting a deal done a little difficult for Liverpool. The 26-year-old made a total of 37 appearances this past season recording 10 goals and three assists for his team.
Chiesa has a lot of quality but it might not be enough to earn him a starting place at Anfield. If a deal is struck this summer, we could see the 26-year-old being used as a backup striker for Darwin Nunez next season.
This is where signing Chiesa could be difficult for the Reds. Unlike them, there are a ton of other teams interested in the 26-year-old. A starting spot can’t be guaranteed by Liverpool but the same can’t be said for the other teams standing in line.
However, the Reds could be getting an opening in their starting XI soon. There has been some talk suggesting Mo Salah could move to Saudi Arabia soon. If this is true it would mean the team would be able to give Chiesa more minutes in the attacking line.
Chiesa might not be top of the class when it comes to striker but he shows a ton of promise. Under the right circumstances and some good minutes, the 26-year-old could even end up being one of the team’s top goalscorers.
