Gareth Southgate drops Liverpool duo from final EUROs 2024 squad

As confirmed by Matt Law, Gareth Southgate has decided to not include Liverpool duo, Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah in his final squad for the EUROs. Both Jones and Quansah were impressive for the Reds during their last campaign.

However, it seems like their performances didn’t earn them enough merit for them to be playing in the EUROs. 23-year-old Jones made 36 appearances last season primarily playing as a central midfielder. During that time he recorded five goals and eight assists for the Reds.

Quansah on the other hand made 34 appearances recording three goals and three assists. Some very impressive numbers from him considering he played as a centre-back for most of last season under Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool duo aren’t the only ones who haven’t been selected for the final squad. Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, James Maddison and Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire have also been left back in England.

Lastly, Jack Grealish was also snubbed from Gareth Southgate’s final squad for the 2024 EUROs. The England manager has snubbed some of the biggest names in England as he gets ready to bring an international trophy back to their country.

Hopefully, Southgate’s team won’t suffer as a consequence of him cutting all these talents off. However, this won’t be the end of Quansah and Jones’ international ambitions. Jones is 23 and Quansah is 21.
