Celtic’s failure to get through to the group stages of the Champions League is good news for Liverpool.
The substantial TV Pool money for British clubs will now be split over four clubs instead of five so the Reds stand to make several million pounds extra CL money.

Chatra further clarified to a user that the TV deal for the Champions League was for Britain and the money is split between England and Scotland.
Celtic lost 2-1 to AEK Athens in the second leg of their qualifier and went out 3-2 on aggregate. Hoops’ loss confirms that only four Premier League clubs would be taking part in the Champions League amongst the Scottish and English teams.
Liverpool reached the final of the competition last season and should be targeting a similar run this season as well.
