Liverpool blame the FA over Carabao Cup problem surrounding Pedro Chirivella
Liverpool and the FA are in a bit of a row regarding our possible expulsion from the Carabao Cup for fielding an ineligible player, according to the Daily Mail.
The Reds handed several youngsters a chance to impress during the 2-0 win over MK Dons.
James Milner and Ki-Jana Hoever got the goals for Jurgen Klopp’s men but it seems that Pedro Chirivella was not given the necessary clearances to play.
Liverpool
The club adds that they had asked the FA for his clearance in July, and are blaming them for “administrative oversight”, according to the report.
The FA claim that the clubs are responsible for the players’ eligibility and will help in the investigation (h/t Daily Mail).
A fine could be on the way
Liverpool could be handed a fine or a written warning too over their error (h/t Daily Mail).
It will be interesting to see what kind of punishment is meted out after the error. Liverpool
