Transfer News: Brighton want £50m for Liverpool target Ben White

According to transfer news from Express, Brighton are said to be demanding £50m for Liverpool target Ben White. Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be after the English defender but all these clubs will have to shell out a premium for his services.

The centre-back has been a long-term target for Jurgen Klopp and the club were even linked with a move for him in January. But the Reds signed Preston North End defender Ben Davies instead and Ozan Kabak from Schalke.

Liverpool have reportedly completed the signing of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig after triggering his release clause.

With the season now over, Liverpool have not signed Kabak on a permanent deal. However, they did go for Ibrahima Konate and signed him. Nonetheless, interest in White from Liverpool remains after what happened this season when they were playing with midfielders in their backline.

White has had an impressive season for Brighton and has looked comfortable in making the step up to the Premier League. He was at Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United in 2019-20, where he helped the club win promotion. While Brighton want to keep the prized asset, they are likely to sell if any club matches their £50m valuation.

White has been named in the England squad for the Euros as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold. His stock could rise further if he gets a chance to impress for the national side. Brighton don’t need to sell and they hold all the cards in this situation.
