James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain absence for Liverpool against Burnley explained

According to Liverpool Echo, the Liverpool duo of James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were out against Burnley for different reasons. Milner is said to have suffered a knock and did not travel. Chamberlain, on the other hand, missed the game due to personal reasons.

Liverpool were ready to welcome back a full Anfield crowd for the Burnley game which was the first home game of the season. A raucous crowd cheered Liverpool on as they completed their second win of the season. It did not take much as Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane’s goals in each half were enough to hand them a win.

There were definitely more chances on offer as two goals from Ashley Barnes and Mo Salah were correctly ruled offside. Although, it must be said that both keepers were on their toes to prevent the net from bulging any further. An interesting few calls were made by Klopp with the likes of Harvey Elliott and Diogo Jota being handed starts.

However, were also some exclusions that were spotted. Veteran James Milner and midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were absent from the travelling squad itself. However, it seems that Milner is nursing a knock and he missed training ahead of the game as well. Chamberlain was absent on grounds of personal reasons after starting the previous game.
