Transfer News: Liverpool don’t expect Mohamed Salah to down his tools despite long contract standoff

Mohamed Salah is yet to extend his contract at Liverpool. This is a story that has been in the news for a while, but the Egyptian has committed his future to the Reds for the next season.

In essence, he has told the club to either give him a new deal or lose him on a free next year. He is currently demanding £400,000-a-week because he feels he deserves that amount due to his importance to the club.

If the club is not meeting that demand, then such things can have an impact on the player’s performance. But the Reds believe that Salah is too much of a perfectionist to let this situation affect his displays, according to the Mirror.

And they are right. Those who have seen the former AS Roma star take the field for us can see that desire to win and always get amongst the goals- even if the team is comfortably winning.

What next for Mohamed Salah at LFC?

He is always amongst the goals and assists and is constantly fighting for the biggest individual awards. There is no way that the Egyptian superstar will not be as hungry next season as he has been for the past 5 years on Merseyside.

Moreover, he has done nothing to show that he doesn’t respect the club and the respect between him and our fans is mutual. Nicknamed the ‘Egyptian King’ by our faithful, the 30-year-old is already a club legend.

Even if Salah does leave as a free agent next year, a situation which the Reds accept can happen, then the upcoming season would be a time where he would want to impress his potential suitors.

It wouldn’t be an unwise strategy to utilise Salah properly for another year then let him leave on a free. If the club and the ex-Chelsea winger can’t come to an agreement, there is no other possibility in the books.

With Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz signed in 2022, the Reds can afford to breathe a little easy.
