Jude Bellingham admires Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai wonder goal vs Leicester
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham commented on the Instagram post made by Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai after his goal-scoring performance against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.
The 22-year-old helped Liverpool in their comeback 3-1 win against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup third round at Anfield after coming on as a substitute in the 65th minute.
The Reds signed the Hungarian international from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for £60m during the summer transfer window. It is now appearing to look more and more like a bargain.
Bellingham responded to Szoboszlai’s Instagram post, captioned “B A N G!” with “Szobooo,” paying tribute to the Hungarian’s incredible 20-yard thunderbolt goal in the 70th minute of the game.
Liverpool considered signing Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund but ultimately decided to withdraw from the race. The talented 20-year-old would’ve taken a massive chunk out of the transfer and wage budget.
The Reds planned multiple signings after the poor performance of the aged midfield in the 2022-23 season. Liverpool changed their strategy and signed Alexis Mac Allister and Szoboszlai for a combined fee of around £100m.
Whereas, Madrid signed Bellingham from Dortmund for £103m with add-ons that can take the deal to £133.9m. While we would have loved to bring the Englishman to Anfield, the sheer scale of the midfield revamp that was needed forced us to spread out the finances more.
The Reds continued their midfield overall by signing Wataru Endō and Ryan Gravenberch. Liverpool patiently and astutely calculated to acquire four quality midfielders at reasonable prices in an unreasonably inflated market.
Liverpool are currently 2nd in the Premier League table as they enjoyed a positive start with some excellent performances.
Szoboszlai has already contributed two goals in the eight games he played so far for Liverpool. The Hungarian international has pleased the Kopites and football pundits with his incredible engine, technique, and passing range.

The England international has everything to become a world-class midfielder as he has already shown with his performances for the Spanish giants. However, Liverpool’s strategy was commendable and cost effective with Szoboszlai proving to have parallel quality and performances to Bellingham.
