Liverpool target Andre Trindade could leave Fluminense in January

Fluminense have never won the Copa Libertadores but have a reasonable chance of doing so this time around thanks to the impressive performances of Liverpool transfer target, Andre Trindade. They have now qualified for the final of the competition for the first time since 2008.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has seen himself on the transfer radar of Liverpool for quite a while now and the Reds, before securing a deal for Wataru Endo, circled down on Trindade only to see rejection.

That was mainly due to the Copa Libertadores as Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt wanted to retain a full-strength squad for the competition and Liverpool had to return in January with a bid in their attempt to land Andre.

Now, Copa Libertadores is extremely close to its conclusion and the Reds can make a swoop for the defensive midfielder. According to the Mirror, Fluminense could allow Trindade to leave in the January transfer window after the conclusion of the “Brazilian Champions League.”

As Liverpool evaluates their options for the January transfer window, the prospect of securing Andre Trindade’s signature becomes an intriguing subplot. The midfielder’s potential arrival could add depth and quality to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield, further enhancing the team’s competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions.

More so, it also hands the Reds a defensive midfielder who has a no-nonsense approach. It should complement the styles of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai well.
