Fulham ahead in the race to secure Liverpool’s target and Fluminense midfielder Andre
Brazilian footballer Andre Trindade has established himself as a formidable midfielder after being in excellent form this season after making his debut in 2020. His expertise has garnered the attention of certain English clubs such as Liverpool and Fulham which are competing to secure him in the upcoming transfer window.
The FIFA player had snubbed the Reds in the summer when Liverpool manager Klopp had reached out to him when he was revamping his midfield and attack. However, Trindade’s supposed commitment to the club and the probable interest in seeing through the Club World Cup saw him retain himself in Fernando Diniz’s side.
Post the final match of the cup where Fluminense lost 4-0 to Man City, the midfielder can now shift his focus towards English clubs for Premier League experience. Andre seems to follow the tradition of several talented Brazilian footballers who prove their strengths on a local forum after which they migrate towards European clubs.
According to Liverpool ECHO (h/t Football Insider), Klopp has almost given up on signing Andre as the 22-year-old is seemingly inching towards joining Fulham. The article mentioned that the Cottagers have an agreement in principle with the footballer.
Andre Trindade might snub Liverpool yet again to join Marco Silva’s Fulham
The Reds’ head coach has built a formidable team this season. He had major players like Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip benched out due to injuries. However, Klopp managed to bridge the gap left behind by roping in young talents like Jarell Quansah who has defended impressively.
The Reds not having lost most of their matches the past couple of months can be attributed to the strong defence set in place by Klopp. Trindade’s presence could’ve brought about a fresh dynamic in midfield.
The Brazilian youngster has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the country for the past couple of years. He’s impressive with his passes and good against the press as well. With his talent and appearances for Fluminense and the culminated experiences from the FIFA Club World Cup and the Copa Libertadores, one can’t help but think that the player can do better than Fulham.

Trindade would be a welcome addition to Marco Silva’s team as Fulham could find him to be the ideal replacement for Joao Palhinha. Should Palhinha leave Silva’s side in the next transfer window, the Cottagers would still find an able player in Andre to fall back on. Unfortunately, it could come at the cost of Liverpool.
