Paris Saint-Germain want Liverpool star Luis Diaz to replace their outgoing forward Kylian Mbappe during the upcoming summer transfer window
French giant Paris Saint-Germain are planning to raid Liverpool for left-winger Luis Diaz to replace their outgoing star Kylian Mbappe. The summer window sees Barcelona’s interest in signing Diaz curbed by their poor financial situation, limiting their transfer activities.
In February, the media reported that Mbappe had informed PSG about his intention to leave after this season. The 25-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the current season and he is a long-term target of Real Madrid.
PSG could secure a deal for Diaz during the transition period as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp leaves after this season. Klopp has already announced that he is stepping back from the managerial role, putting many players’ futures in doubt.
The Telegraph reported that PSG are ready to sign Diaz from Liverpool during the upcoming transfer window to replace Mbappe. The report stated that Liverpool rated Diaz at around £75 million, an attainable valuation for the high-spending French club.
Liverpool are currently challenging for the Premier League title, currently in second place behind Arsenal in goal difference. The Reds are also playing in the Europa League, playing Atalanta in the quarter-finals of the competition on Thursday.
Diaz has played a crucial role for Liverpool this season, establishing himself as a first-choice left-winger despite the quality competition. The 27-year-old faced criticism for inconsistency after returning from a long-term knee injury he sustained in the 2022-23 season.
However, Diaz is one of the key performers for the Reds, contributing in overall play alongside goals and assists. He has made 42 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, contributing with 13 goals and four assists this season.

The Colombia international’s father has recently made several comments that hinted he could exit soon. If Diaz cannot commit his future to Liverpool regardless of the managerial change, the club should allow him to leave. Liverpool fans adore him, but they will understand if both the club and the player choose this route.
