Liverpool could end up spending up to £51m on a Dutch midfielder this summer
As reported by Football Italia, Liverpool will have to pay upwards of if they wish to sign Atalanta BC midfielder, Teun Koopmeiners this summer. His stellar form this past season has helped the Dutch star garner interest from multiple top clubs.
Juventus are also interested in acquiring the services of Koopmeiners. However, the hefty pricetag attached to him would be unaffordable for the Italian giants unless they make some sales first, which puts the Reds in the driving seat.
As long as the Anfield squad moves faster than Juventus, they have an extremely good shot of bolstering their midfield with Teun Koopmeiners. The 26-year-old would immediately add a lot of quality to the Reds’ middle line.
Teun made 51 appearances last season recording a total of 15 goals and seven assists, which shows just how much of a threat he can be in the final third. The Reds have forwards that tend to misfire in the biggest moments.
So, adding a player like Koopmeiners to the lineup will help the team bolster their firepower and gain some assurance in front of goal. However, his expensive pricetag could prove to be a problem for the Anfield crowd.
£51m is a lot of money for a 26-year-old who is yet to prove himself in the Premier League. If the Reds pay the price and Koopmeiner’s transition to the PL isn’t smooth, they would be washing a ton of money down the drain.
