Neven Subotic had a pretty fulfilling career under Jurgen Klopp when the manager was there in Borussia Dortmund. Since the departure of the manager the player has been struggling for game time and has made only three appearances this season. Naturally he is looking for a way out and may become available in the summer.
Liverpool is understood to have bid for him in the January transfer window but the Dortmund boss, Thomas Tuchel, rejected the offer. Now the German publication Bild has reported that he may be available for €5 million in the summer.
The player has his contract with Dortmund till 2018 and is currently earning €3 million a season. However, these are not a major hurdle for Liverpool if they want the player to come to Anfield. The player is also said to be looking for a reunion with Klopp to revive his career but Hamburg are also said to be interested in the player. However it is understood by Bild that Hamburg may not have the financial muscle to afford the player. This leaves Liverpool in the driver’s seat as far as this deal goes.
