Strongest Liverpool Lineup Which Can Dent Tottenham’s Title Hopes: Can To Partner Henderson In Pivot

Strongest Liverpool Lineup To Face Tottenham

Jurgen Klopp’s men gear up as they welcome Tottenham Hotspurs after the two-week international break. Both the sides have had a lot of players who featured for their respective national teams and some of them performed brilliantly. Liverpool enter this one at the back of a heart-breaking defeat at the hands of Southampton where they were denied all 3 points by a tremendous comeback by the saints. Tottenham enter this game at the back of a comfortable 3-0 victory against the bottom side Bournemouth. Here is a look at the predicted line-up for the Reds ahead of this big game. A win for the reds would seriously dent the title hopes of the visitors.

Formation

4-2-3-1

Goalkeeper: Mignolet

Since Liverpool do not have too much of a choice with goalkeepers, Mignolet should be the one starting this game.

Defense: Flanagan, Lovren, Sakho, Clyne

Lovren

Flanagan was the skipper for the heartbreak game against Southampton and he should take start as the full-back on the right side. Skrtel showed a dismal performance in the last game and should definitely be replaced by Lovren at the back. Mamadou Sakho started for France in the international game and should partner up with Lovren at the back. Clyne had a good game for England and should take up the responsibility at the left-back position since Moreno is still doubtful for the game.

Midfield: Henderson, Can

Emre Can featured in the game for Germany and has had a decent run of form. He has pretty much cemented his position as the defensive midfielder. Jordan Henderson is expected to start as a skipper and play in the central midfield. He also had a decent game against Germany and controlled midfield proceedings for his national side.

Attacking midfield: Milner, Coutinho, Lallana

Liverpool’s in-form player Firmino has picked up a hamstring injury and is doubtful to start this one. In his absence, Coutinho should take up his position at the center of the attacking midfield. James Milner was the skipper for his national side in the last game and should start on the left flank. Adam Lallana has also had a good run of form for Liverpool and should start at the right flank. This trio will need to bring their A game against Tottenham if they want their side to have a chance against the club from North London.
Striker: Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge has had a good record against Tottenham and he should be the man up front for Liverpool.
