After that thumping victory over Arsene Wenger’s side Arsenal, the Merseyside club Liverpool will now be carrying that confidence for the next showdown in the Premier League. the young midfielder, namely, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane were the stars of the Emirates showdown and a same kind of form is now expected for the next fixture.
The upcoming stop for the Reds is the Turf Moor, where the side will be challenging the newly promoted side Burnley. The home side recently lost to Swansea with a marginal scoreline of one goal to nil, hence, they will be looking to bounce back and a win over a club like Liverpool will surely help their case.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are looking more favourite than the home side in the fixture as the players are currently hitting a top form and the support from the fans is worth mentioning as well. Meanwhile, Burnley didn’t have the start they would have hoped for, but the singing of the Belgian midfielder Steven Defour for a club record fee might cheer them up to perform well.
The home side do not really have issues regarding the injuries as the only absentee from the side is Chris Brunt, who is suffering from an ACL knee injury and is expected to return in October.
While, on the other hand, the new signing Steven Defour might mark his debut in the fixture for the side.
The visitors have been hit by drastic news regarding their new singing Sadio Mane. The former Southampton man was recently taken to the hospital for tests on his shoulder. However, the results of the scan revealed that the 24-year-old has only suffered a muscle injury in the collision and did not dislocate his shoulder, which will serve as a boost to manager Jurgen Klopp.
Mane will be monitored by the club’s medical staff over the coming days but may miss Saturday’s visit to Turf Moor as the Reds take on newly-promoted Burnley, reports ESPN
.Furthermore, the Reds have been handed a major boost regarding the other injuries as well; striker Daniel Sturridge and midfielder James Milner have been declared fit for the next trip and might mark their presence.
Not sure about Sturridge, but it is expected that James Milner will be replacing Alberto Moreno for the left spot. Furthermore, players like Emre Can and Marko Grujic are also expected to start, and the new arrival Joel Matip could come in at centre-back to replace Dejan Lovren, who had an average game against Arsenal.
Burnley:
Heaton
Lowton; Keane; Mee; Ward
Boyd; Marney; Jones; Arfield
Gray; Vokes
Liverpool:
Mignolet
Clyne; Lovren; Klavan; Milner
Can; Grujic; Wijnaldum
Lallana; Firmino; Coutinho
As stated earlier, Liverpool here are the favourite side in the fixture and looking at the recent form, it is safe to say that this is an easy fixture for the Merseysiders to conquer. Coutinho is hitting a top form, while Mane’s absence will be felt, but Lallana can haunt the Clarets to create the opportunities. On the other hand, Burnley’s case is surely not supported by their record against the Reds, but they could turn the tables in their favour if they manage to keep Coutinho at bay, which is highly unlikely anyway.
