Forget It Klopp – Why This Bundesliga Superstar Is Not Good Enough For Liverpool

The shocking 2-0 defeat to Burnley last weekend has raised some many questions on Liverpool’s stature. Seven, yes, seven is the number of signings Liverpool have made this summer in order to compete for the title, but this thumping defeat has not at all favoured their cause. Well, this is no secret that even after signing these many players, Liverpool still needs reinforcement in several areas and most notably at the left back and central/defensive midfield.

The left spot has always been a problem for Klopp, and many believed that this would be sorted out and so many names were linked to the Anfield outfit, but nothing has been materialized till date. The window is not over yet, and we might still expect a couple of signings, but a name that has been linked right at this very moment actually makes no sense.

According to the rumours, Liverpool are lining up a bid for Wolfsburg’s attacking midfielder Julian Draxler. The german international really impressed at the Euro 2016 and his pleasant form even awarded him a starting spot ahead of his compatriot Mario Gotze. But, on the other hand, Liverpool’s rivals Arsenal are also reportedly chasing the German international and few reports has stated that Arsenal have launched a £41.9 million bid for the player and the Bundesliga outfit are ready to accept the offer.

Well, we personally believe that yes, joining Arsenal is fine, but Liverpool? Talking about Draxler, he is totally opposite of today’s youngsters. Where others’ game is solely based on pace, his game his concentrated upon building it up rather than going all-out. He is known for his team-building moves and also for his versatility. Naturally a right footed, he is capable of operating the game from any attacking spot.

This is no secret that the player is one of the kind, but what exactly will trouble him at the Anfield is the first team spot. There are already many players in Liverpool, who are struggling for the spot, and signing Draxler will only choke it further. Player of Draxler’s stature will demand a regular first team football, and if analysing the current situation; then Firmino might have to give up his spot. Their wingers, Mane and Coutinho, right at this very moment are irreplaceable, while Firmino has been struggling in recent times, so Draxler might come as an upgrade for the Brazilian.

In the 4-3-3 deployment, Draxler will be the central attacker, but during that course, Firmino’s progress will be stalled and no Liverpool fan would ever want that to happen.  Players like Sturridge and Lallana are already digging to find a permanent spot and Draxler’s inclusion will only make it hard for them.

Besides that, Liverpool recently bought Gini Wijnaldum, an attacking – pacy midfielder, from Newcastle United and he has already been deployed in an unnatural position and we all saw how he struggled to fit in the plan and same might happen with Draxler. Also, with no European football to play for, the squad rotation will be minimized and that might cause some backstage problems amongst the players, hence, it is good for the player as well as of the club to surrender the negotiation for a better stake.
