Breaking! Liverpool Join Tottenham To Sign This Highly Rated Argentine Attacker

The transfer window is far from done, but the managers have already started their plans for the winter season. According to the reports from the Guardian, Liverpool are currently looking to sign Lucas Alario of River Plate.

The same source has stated that the Merseysiders tried to sign the 23-year-old attacker earlier this summer as they launched a £8.5m bid, but their offer was rejected by the club and the Merseysiders are reportedly looking to “go again” for the striker.

But this time around, they will be facing a stiff competition from their Premier League rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. Alario carries a £15.2 million release clause and the sources have stated that Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy is looking to prepare a bumper offer of £8.4m for the striker.

Besides the Premier League clubs, a couple of Serie A sides like Inter Milan and Torino are also interested in the 23-year-old, but any deal for Alario is likely to be complicated one as third-party ownership issues need to be resolved before the hitman could move on.

However, who made his international debut this year, Alario is keen to play in the Premier League.

He said: “Like every player, I dream to play in Europe at some point in my career.

“For that, first I have to make things right at River, to keep growing and learning.”

Alario joined River Plate back in June 2015 on a four-year contract for a fee of 2.25 million Argentine pesos.
