Liverpool Stars Caught Breaking The Law, Could Have To Pay A £1,000 Fine As Police Are Looking Into It

Another Liverpool defender is caught in the firing lines, this time breaking a number of traffic rules. Dejan Lovren, along with Marko Grujic and Lazar Markovic were taking part in a carpool karaoke video but things have not gone right.

The video, which was uploaded to the official website of the club, shows the trio driving along. They also end up singing the famous anthem, “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The issue stems from the fact that during the video Lovren actually takes his hands off the steer to look at a mobile phone.

Lazar Markovic was also seen not wearing a seatbelt while seated at the back of the car. Experts reported at least four major issues with the video, namely, not being in proper control of a vehicle, driving without due care and attention, using his mobile phone at the wheel and having a passenger without a seat belt – all of which are illegal. All of these were reported by the Daily Mail.

Jack Kushner, brake road safety charity spokesman also said:

“It’s disappointing to see somebody who is a role model driving in such an irresponsible manner.”

Police could be investigating the video

While the Reds already have issues with Mamadou Sakho, this video could be checked by Police authorities in the UK. The charge with the maximum penalty is driving while using a cell phone. The driver could be disqualified from driving and also face a £1,000 fine.

Jurgen Klopp recently asked his players to keep a lid on such incidents. The German also wanted his players to pay more attention to the upcoming fixtures. And this might not go down all too well with the manager as well.

For Dejan Lovren this is an unwanted incident being highlighted. The Croatian has been one of the best defenders in the league this season. He has also been able to create a great partnership with Joel Matip, who came in from Schalke.

The other two players on the list aren’t first team regulars, though Marko Grujic has played a good number of minutes in the EFL Cup and the Premier League as well.

A distraction not needed

Liverpool have been doing really well this season and this video could put a spanner in the works. There has been no comment from the club or player at the moment. The Reds could argue that this was just a promotional video and no harm was meant. But players are seen as role models and Lovren should have been careful.

It will be interesting to see just how far this goes and Liverpool fans will hope that this is nipped in the bud.
