Liverpool Complete The Signature Of This 23-year Old Midfielder, Other Youngsters Given New Contracts As Well

Liverpool’s belief in the current crop of youngsters knows no bounds and another player who is set for a great future at Anfield is being linked with a long-term contract at the club. Kevin Stewart, who has played in five games this season, is rumoured to be the next youngster to sign a new contract under Jurgen Klopp.

The 23-year-old might not be the youngest player in the team but he has impressed the boss enough and should sign on a better deal. The Daily Mail

believes the contract would keep the Englishman at the club till 2021 and the interesting stat here is that Stewart signed a new deal at the Reds early in February this year.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player had earlier stated that playing for the Reds was his dream and it seems he is part of the bigger picture at the club. The midfielder has looked conformable whenever he has played for the Merseyside club and his stay at the club will be good news for many.

Youth policy for the Reds is important

Stewart is not the only youngster that seems to be on the rise at the club. The likes of Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria have been on the cusp of the first team this season. Another player who is expected to have a bright future is Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Jurgen Klopp seems to have worked extremely hard on the youth system and many players have also been released. Jon Flanagan isn’t at the club at the moment while starlets such as Brad Smith and Jordon Ibe have been sold by the German.

Liverpool have had a history of playing youngsters in the side and the German seems to be wanting to employ this feature once again. Klopp did state recently that he would only look at the transfer market for a player when there is no quality in the Liverpool youth side within.

Stewart played 11 games in all last season and that number will certainly increase this season. The hard work put in by the midfielder is finally bearing fruit and at 23, he does need to play more games.

There is a belief that he could be playing a lot of games in the cup competitions, which would provide him with great experience. Hopefully, the Englishman can grab his opportunities with both hands and break into the first team or provide Klopp with a great option to call from the bench.
