Liverpool Manager Shares Why He Did Not Tell About Arsenal’s Result To His Players

Liverpool shot up to the top of the Premier League standings for the first time since May 2014 thanks to a great performance against Watford. The Merseyside club were at their best as they hammered six goals past the Hornets and had five different scorers in the rout.

The win was significant as not many expected the Reds to climb to the top of the league, let alone be close to the top four at the start of the season. But Jurgen Klopp has drilled his side extremely well and the attack is the best in the division.

The Reds have scored 30 goals in 11 games and even though their defence is struggling to keep clean sheets, the attacking power is bringing home the points. While Chelsea did a number on Everton on Saturday, Liverpool followed suit on Sunday.

Klopp was speaking to reporters after the game as many are tipping the Merseyside club for their first ever Premier League title.

“If somebody thinks being one point ahead after 11 matchdays is a big sign for the rest of the season, I can’t help this person. Sorry!”

More hard work ahead for the Reds

The German did say that being at the top is the best possible outcome at any given point of time and also shared why he did not speak about the Arsenal result.

“We stay cool, nothing happened. It’s the best position I can imagine actually, but really nothing else happened. We didn’t speak one word before the game – we knew already that Arsenal drew against Tottenham – but we didn’t speak one word about the possibility of being top of the table.

“The only thing you can do is to work and stay concentrated, because a lot of different things could happen in the next few weeks and months. How positive they are is up to us, actually.”

An easy fixture list for the Merseyside club

Liverpool have had a tough run of fixtures but the upcoming list of games does look favourable for the side. The only tough game seems to be the Merseyside derby in the middle of December. The next opponents for the Reds are Southampton, Sunderland, Leeds United (EFL Cup), Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and West Ham.

If Liverpool can keep their attacking play and intensity for the remaining games, there is no doubt that the Reds will score more goals but remain on top of the league. Should New Year come calling and Liverpool remain at the top of the standings, the fans will certainly be dreaming big.
