Liverpool Star Names Chelsea’s Star Striker (Along With Two More Names) As His Inspiration

Divock Origi might not have had the chance to start the game against Manchester City but he had been in great form prior to the game. The Belgian had been scoring regularly for the Reds and even set up a goal in the 4-1 win over Stoke City.

Origi wasn’t expected to play these many games this season but injuries to Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge has seen the 20-year-old play 15 games in the Premier League and even start five. The former Lille man has scored seven goals in all competitions and even had a hot streak of scoring four in four games recently.

The Belgian certainly has a lot of time on his hand as he learns the tricks of the trade and when asked who his inspirations were while playing the game. Origi did have a few interesting names to share as he was quoted by the Daily Mail.

“Every striker has qualities. I look at the aggression of Diego Costa; the runs that Edinson Cavani makes. The finishing of Harry Kane.”

While the comments certainly can be taken with a pinch of salt as the attacker didn’t name any of the greats from the yesteryears, Origi did have a point when he spoke about these stars.

Origi has done rather well since taking up the striker’s role for the Reds but still can get better. He did speak about the aggressiveness and strength of Costa and that is certainly something that he can bring to his game. The 20-year-old needs to be a little more physical when he takes on defenders and certainly can learn a few things from Costa.

Regarding his finish, he certainly has worked on that a lot this season and should get better with more games under his belt.

Liverpool certainly need to continue their attacking ways this season and should they continue playing in the same manner of scoring goals, they certainly will finish in the top four at least.

Irrespective of how the season pans out, this has been a great one for the Reds so far and will certainly go a long way in defining Jurgen Klopp’s time at the club. If the Reds can add a few more players to their attack and even defence during the winter transfer window, they should be able to dream of a finish higher than fourth.

Klopp certainly has got something special going on at Liverpool and hopefully that will continue till the end of the season.
