Jurgen Klopp Has Acheived Impressive Stats After First 50 League Games With Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp might not have led his Liverpool side to victory in the game against Sunderland but the German still had a reason to celebrate. The former Borussia Dortmund manager was in charge of his 50^th league game for the Reds and he certainly has done a wonderful job since joining the side.

Klopp arrived at the club in October 2015 and the Reds are in contention for a first Premier League title, just over a year after the German arrived. Liverpool are second in the Premier League table and trial Chelsea.

In his 50 games in charge, Klopp has won 26 games, which does put him in some great company of former Liverpool managers. As stated by statistician Ged Rea, the German is third on the list of managers with most wins after 50 games.

The former Borussia Dortmund man might not be able to catch up to legends such as Kenny Dalglish and Bill Shankly, who each won three league titles as the manager, Dalglish picked up three during his first stint as the manager. But Klopp did beat a few other legends.

The German is ahead of Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan, while surprisingly Brendan Rodgers was tied with 23 wins a piece alongside Rafa Benitez.

Credit must be given where it is due as the current manager has turned the fortunes of the club around. The former Mainz man has made Liverpool an attacking force to reckon with and had they actually been a little better in closing out games, they could have been tied with Chelsea at the top of the table.

The Reds were again held to a 2-2 draw against Sunderland in their last game and will be looking to return to winning ways in the FA Cup at the weekend. They face Plymouth Argyle and it is expected that Klopp will give a number of seniors rest in this tie.

The players did look jaded in the game against the Black Cats and hopefully the rest will find them in good stead as they face Manchester United in a couple of weeks. That game should serve as another test for the rising Reds and victory at Old Trafford could certainly give them the impetus to charge for an unlikely Premier League title.
