Reports – Liverpool Tracking €25m Rated Italian Striker From Sassuolo

Liverpool have been searching high and low for an attacker that could join them soon but their search has been fruitless thus far. While the likes of Christian Pulisic and Quincy Promes seem set to stay at their respective clubs, Jurgen Klopp could be looking to rekindle his interest in Domenico Berardi.

The 22-year-old is being linked with a move to Merseyside according to Gazzetta di Modena and according to the outlet the Reds had even sent out scouts to watch the Sassuolo striker in action.

It was even reported earlier in the year that Berardi was Klopp’s main target but that didn’t take place in the last window. While it isn’t clear if Berardi would be available in the winter, he could end up moving in the summer as the German manager tries to add more quality in his attack.

The Italian is worth a reported €25m and can play on both wings, which will be a bonus for Liverpool. The youngster was out for a while with an injury but has scored seven goals this season with five coming in four games in the Europa League.

He also has a couple of assets in the Serie A along with a couple of goals but what makes him a great option is his ability to play down the middle or even out wide. He has a pace to burn and many believe that he will turn out to be one of the best Italian players from this generation.

Jurgen Klopp certainly knows a good player and if he does find Berardi quality, he will go all out to sign the striker. We saw the same when it came to Sadio Mane and the Senegalese star has been incredible for the Reds this season.

Berardi does have a mean streak about him and his discipline on the pitch will always be a concern but there is an even bigger issue on play here and that is the history of Italians doing poorly in recent years.

Mario Balotelli and Alberto Aquilani are a couple of players that struggled to make it big in the Premier League with Liverpool and hopefully, the same does not take place with the Sassuolo striker.

Even former Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza struggled playing for West Ham but Klopp could be given the benefit of doubt with the 22-year-old. The Italian has a lot of time on his hands and can turn out to be a good signing only if the Reds can get the best out of him.
