Liverpool Close On Completing A £120,000 Per Week Deal For This English Star

Liverpool seems to be trying their best to hold onto their current stars, even if their season is unravelling quickly. The Reds have now lost three consecutive games at Anfield and have been knocked out of two cup competitions in less than a week.

The Merseyside club are reportedly set to extend the deal of star midfielder Adam Lallana and the Express

claims the club will make him one of the best-paid players at the club. The outlet reported that Lallana and Liverpool had agreed to a deal which would see him earn £120,000 a week.

The deal would extend his stay at Anfield for another four seasons as the current deal would end in 2019. The Express had also claimed that Mauricio Pochettino was keen on reuniting with his former Southampton star at Tottenham but should Lallana sign this deal, it would ensure one of Liverpool’s best players this season stays at the club longer.

Lallana had also been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona in recent weeks and could be the second star to sign a long-term deal with the Reds. Philippe Coutinho had signed a similar deal to keep him at Anfield and Lallana deserves a contract to keep him at the club for longer.

Lallana shines even in tough run of games

The Reds have only won one game in 2017 and that came against lowly Plymouth in the FA Cup. The Merseyside club are in a poor patch of form at the moment and they will look at Lallana to help them out in the next set of games.

The Englishman has been brilliant so far this season and has found his home in the middle of the park. Lallana is the key to Liverpool’s attack as he links up the play from midfield to the front trio and often is the player that makes the important runs.

With Sadio Mane returning to the team, the onus will be on Liverpool to get back to their best. Their job isn’t going to be easy as they next face Chelsea at Anfield and another loss will be a huge problem for the Reds as they look to bring a Premier League title to the club.

The signs don’t look too good and Jurgen Klopp will have to get the team confident they can play in a similar way to what they were doing at the start of the season. Hopefully, Lallana can turn things around for the club too.
