Liverpool, Chelsea And Manchester Clubs Told To Forget About Signing This Inter Milan Star

Liverpool’s hopes of signing Ivan Perisic in the summer seem to have hit a roadblock. The 28-year-old has been one of the brightest players for Inter Milan this season and has chipped in with seven goals.

The Croatian was linked with a move to Liverpool in the winter transfer window as well but nothing concrete was stated about the player leaving the San Siro.

Reports in Italy suggest that as many as three Premier League clubs are looking to sign the versatile winger but Inter’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio has dashed all such rumours by stating that Perisic is not for sale.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport (via talkSPORT) he said:

“I do not think it is either Perisic’s or our intentions for him to leave.

“He is part of a massive project and we do not want to sell our players. We cannot envisage an Inter without Perisic.

“We are not going to get rid of our best players.”

A lot of competition for Perisic but he isn’t going to Liverpool

Chelsea, apart from Liverpool, have also been doing the rounds finding out about the Croatian midfielder but it is highly unlikely he would join the Reds or the Blues next season.

Perisic had played under Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and the pair didn’t have the greatest working relation. The Croatian left the Signal Iduna Park at the end of the 2012-13 season and joined rivals Wolfsburg. His fine performances for the Bundesliga giants saw him seal a deal with Inter but he hasn’t won any silverware with the club.

It isn’t a surprise that and a number of clubs want to sign the versatile player. Perisic does have an eye for goal but his ability to play across the pitch makes him an asset. The 28-year-old also has a great engine and his energy levels could have made him the perfect signing for Klopp in the summer.

The Reds certainly have listed out a number of players to sign in the summer. Bundesliga rising stars Christian Pulisic, Julian Brandt and Mahmoud Dahoud have been on the radar of the Merseyside club and the Reds will have to break the bank to sign the trio up.

Klopp knows the lack of squad depth has hurt the Reds this season and if they had a player like Perisic in the side, he could certainly turn out to be the next James Milner.
