Comparison: This Is How The Stats Look After 55 Games In Charge Of Liverpool For Jurgen Klopp & Current Celtic Boss Rodgers

Liverpool suffered a frustrating defeat at the hands of defending champions and relegation battlers Leicester City at King Power stadium and the score line of 3-1 would not have pleased the Anfield faithful. It was a lacklustre performance from the Reds and it reflects on the final score.

To further rub salt on the wound, a really strange stat has been doing the rounds on the Internet and it will surely not read well to the eyes of Liverpool supporters.

However, the stat can be considered as a mere number comparison and it does not really have a say in the way the team has been performing.

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers took over as Celtic boss in the summer, after being sacked by Liverpool last season. He has since moved on and has managed Celtic in 44 games so far. He has won 34, drawn 5 and lost 5 games, and has an astonishing win percentage of 77.2% – quite remarkable for a man who was thrown out of a club mid-season. He has not lost even a single league game so far this season in 26 games, winning 25 and drawing the remaining one game. Celtic are virtually unstoppable in Scotland and they will be Champions for sure.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ performance at Liverpool was not the same and there were ups and downs in his Liverpool tenure. He took the team agonisingly close to a title win in 2013/14 and only missed out on the title in the final hurdle due to an unlucky loss to Chelsea following an unlucky slip from a certain club legend.

Rodgers and Klopp compare almost the same after 55 games in charge of Liverpool.

After 55 games in charge of Liverpool:

Brendan Rodgers: 97 points.

Jurgen Klopp: 94 points.

Rodgers’ points tally after 55 games in charge of Liverpool stood at 97 back then, and it was almost similar to how the previous managers had performed, except that Rodgers was the only manager who took Liverpool mighty close to winning the league after their previous triumph in 1990.

To everyone’s surprise, the current manager Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been anything extraordinary when looking at points tally and has amassed 94 points after 55 games in charge, which is 3 less than his predecessor!

It is quite remarkable indeed, given the club’s atmosphere under Klopp so far. There is so much positivity around the club and the players are working harder than ever before. They look like a confident bunch and seem to be motivated too. The players are loving life under Jurgen and have shown it on the pitch, despite the score lines suggesting mixed performances from the team.

Even though Klopp may not be statistically better than Rodgers so far, he has displayed all signs of a manager taking the club in the right direction and this simple stat comparison should not be a spot of bother for Liverpool fans.
