Liverpool To Receive £500,000 Thanks To The £13M Deal They Completed In The Summer

Liverpool will reportedly receive £500,000 if Stoke City finish in the top-10. As a part of the deal that took Welshman Joe Allen to Stoke, the Reds are set to receive the sum at the end of the season.

Joe Allen signed for Stoke City in a £13 million

deal in July and it now looks like Liverpool might make more money depending on Stoke’s finish in the Premier League this season.

Allen has had an impressive season at the Bet365 stadium and has 6 goals and 4 assists to his name. He has made 33 appearances this season and has played a total of 2728 minutes on the pitch for the Potters.

Stoke manager Hughes said about Allen: “There’s always that motivation to show them there’s life in you as a player and I think that certainly comes to the fore when you go up against them. I think there’s the thinking that people think when you leave a top club, you’re at the end of your career to a certain extent and you’re on a downward spiral. But I didn’t take that view when I left Man United – I didn’t want to be seen as seeing out the rest of my career to a certain degree. Joe has come here and he’s playing week in, week out so he’s got a better platform to show people what he can do.”

Stoke are currently placed 12th in the table after a 4-game winless streak which includes a draw against Manchester City, and 3 consecutive losses to Chelsea, Leicester, and Burnley.

Though Allen has had some great memories with Liverpool, for some reason, Klopp chose to let go of Allen and it does look like a wise move now, as Liverpool have not felt his absence at all.

The Reds are having a good season and might go all the way to finish in the top-4 and play in the Champions League next season. As a matter of fact, it is Allen who would be missing the chance to play in Europe’s ultimate competition and the Reds certainly have no regrets about letting the Welshman leave the club.

Do you think Joe Allen’s departure will come back to bite Liverpool?

A throwback to when Allen salvaged a point for Liverpool against the Gunners.
