Liverpool’s hopes of signing players next season depend on them getting into Europe and should they achieve that; the Reds will be able to target the players they need.

One such player who has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League is Franck Kessie. The Ivorian has been the breakout star for a brilliant Atalanta side this season and has helped them occupy the fifth position in the league.

Kessie can play in the holding midfielder’s role and has scored six goals and provided three assists in the league campaign. The 20-year-old has also been linked with a move to Chelsea but the Daily Star claims that Liverpool are still interested in the talented midfielder.

Liverpool have reportedly kept an eye on Kessie a number of games and had sent scouts to watch the player. Surprisingly, it was also reported that AS Roma had completed a deal to sign Kessie at the start of next season but no concrete quotes from the player or the clubs in question came.

Kessie will have a number of clubs to choose from in the summer and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he does remain in Italy to not only do well in a league that he knows but also play for one of the bigger Italian clubs.

Liverpool do need a quality midfielder for next season as Jordan Henderson has had a number of injury problems and Lucas Leiva is set to leave the Reds at the end of the season. Kessie might not be playing in the Premier League but he can turn out to be a great signing should he be given the right atmosphere to prosper and develop.

The Reds have seen one of their targets for the summer, Mahmoud Dahoud, move to Borussia Dortmund and they would have to work overtime if they are to sign their targets for next season. And will hope a similar situation doesn’t develop with Kessie.
