Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and club captain Jordan Henderson laid out a wreath to mark the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy.
96 Liverpool fans were killed during the FA Cup semi-final match against Nottingham Forest in 1989 and the families of the fans marked the occasion with a prayer service at the Liverpool cathedral.
While the families had asked the club not to conduct a memorial service at Anfield but the Merseyside giants did their bit to remember the lives lost on that dark day.
