Liverpool Set To Hold Crunch Talks With Brazilian Midfielder (Not Lucas) Regarding His Future At The Club

On-loan Liverpool youngster Allan Rodrigues de Souza is reportedly set to hold crunch talks with Klopp regarding his future at the club after having spent 3 seasons on loan away from Anfield.

The Brazilian arrived at Liverpool amidst much excitement but was not given the work permit as he didn’t feature for his national team back then. The Reds were smart enough to sign the player and send him out on loan immediately.

He was loaned out to Finnish club Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho. It was a short-term loan where he scored 2 goals and provided 5 assists in 8 games. He then moved to Sint-Truiden on loan for the remainder of the season, where he played 9 games with no fruitful returns.

He returned to Liverpool at the start of this current campaign, with a view of getting a work permit to play in England. However, he was not granted one and hence the Reds decided to send him out on loan once again, but this time to Bundesliga club Hertha BSC.

He has made just 11 appearances for the German club and hasn’t contributed to any of their goals. He has hardly played for 500 minutes this season.

With the player not getting enough game time even in his loan spell, it is hard to see Klopp including the youngster in his plans, though he was impressed by the U-20 Brazil international’s performance during the training sessions.

Klopp may feel that the player needs more experience of playing in the top-flight before representing Liverpool, as the intensity of English football would be too much for a young boy like Allan to handle.

However, talks are set to happen between the player’s representatives and Liverpool and it is believed that a decision will be made at the end of the season. His spell in the Bundesliga should strengthen his case for getting permission to play in the Premier League.

However, Hertha chief Preetz has hinted that he could keep the promising young playmaker. When asked by German newspaper Kicker if Allan will remain in the German capital next season, he said:

“We must and will discuss this with Liverpool.”
