Jurgen Klopp Intervenes To Try And Sign European Hotshot With 21 Goals And 8 Assists

Jurgen Klopp has personally intervened as he looks to bring in one of Europe’s hottest strikers in Kylian Mbappe. According to the French outlet L’Équipe (h/t ), the German has spoken to the player’s entourage and wants Liverpool to sign him up.

This does come as a bit of a shocker seeing that we haven’t had the best of luck when it comes to transfers this season and have had to deal with one setback after another.

Mohamed Salah was one player that everyone expected to sign up for the club but that hasn’t taken place.  The worst bit of news has come regarding the Virgil van Dijk transfer where we came out with an apology and ended our interest in the Southampton central defender.

Coming back to Mbappe, there is no doubt that he is one of the best players in the world at the moment and had a stellar season with Monaco in Ligue 1.

The 18-year-old has been one of the reasons why the club beat PSG to win the French League and he also had a great run in the Champions League with his side.

Mbappe scored 21 goals and provided 8 assists in 38 games for the side and is one of the most exciting players there, which has seen him being linked with a move to a number of clubs.

Us being linked with the player is extremely surprising given that we aren’t known for our crazy spending and that is what will play in the hands of Monaco as they look to get as much as they can for the player.

L’Équipe (h/t also reports that the likes of PSG and Real Madrid are tracking the player and battling the pair and their deep pockets will be tough for us. What will work for us is our ability to give youngsters a chance in the starting XI, something that Klopp is known for.

The Kop Times Verdict

Mbappe does have a big decision to make about his future, should he decide to move away from the Ligue 1 champions. The 18-year-old will have a lot of lucrative offers and choosing wisely will be the difference between becoming world class or stalling.

We highly doubt Mbappe would be coming to Anfield next season but if he does, losing out on Van Dijk wouldn’t be all that bad.
