Reputed Journalist Explains Why Klopp Has Not Sanctioned Any Loan Deals For Liverpool Youngsters

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is holding off on sanctioning loan moves for players from the U-23 side, in order to give them a chance to impress in the pre-season, Liverpool Echo reports.

Reputed journalist James Pearce held a Live Q&A with the Echo and fielded all questions from the fans on Thursday afternoon. When he was questioned as to why the youngsters from our reserve sides weren’t being sent out on temporary stints, Pearce responded

:

“It’s possible Ojo could be loaned out later in the window but I can’t see it happening any time soon.

“Klopp wants to have a close look at players like Ojo, Wilson and Kent in pre-season. That’s their opportunity to force their way into his plans for the season ahead.”

There is no doubt that the three youth stars – Ojo, Wilson and Ward, all will be benefited from loan spells away from the club, by gaining important first-team experience by playing regularly – something which cannot be guaranteed to them at Anfield.

However, it is good to see that Klopp trusts in the abilities of our young players and is interested in giving them a chance to prove themselves in the pre-season and force a place in the senior team – much like what Trent-Alexander Arnold, Ovie Ejaria and Ben Woodburn did last summer.

While it is highly unlikely that any of these players will be at Anfield at the start of the 2017/18 campaign, it will be a good opportunity for them to showcase their talents in the pre-season. We have always produced some great young talents and it is encouraging and pleasing to see Jurgen Klopp give these youngsters a chance.

Supporting young talents has been a key feature of Jurgen Klopp and that has earned him the reputation that he has in the world of football today.

Liverpool are set to play in Hong Kong, Germany and Ireland as part of the pre-season tour, as well as domestic friendlies against lower league opponents. We will kick things off with a friendly against Tranmere Rovers at the Prenton Park on July 12th.
