Liverpool Captain Delivers Honest Verdict On Club’s £120,000-a-week Star After His England Performance

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s move to Liverpool has seen a lot of reactions from all over. The deadline day move saw the 24-year-old join us from Arsenal after a bit of a stagnant period in his career but our captain Jordan Henderson believes Jurgen Klopp can take the Ox to the next level.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was our fourth signing of the summer window, while Naby Keita would be joining us next season from RB Leipzig. The 24-year-old reportedly took a pay cut to join us on £120,000-a-week

, even though Arsenal and Chelsea were offering a lot more.

The move seems to be a calculated one from the former Southampton player and Henderson was quoted as saying by the Sport Review,

“Well, I think, you’d have seen him [Klopp] on the sidelines, he’s very passionate.

“What you see is a fantastic manager and I think he will help Alex a lot.

“He will help him develop as a player and hopefully you will see even more good things from him.”

Six Years But No Glory At Arsenal For The Ox

Ox spent six years at Arsenal before deciding to leave Arsene Wenger’s side and truth be told, there were a lot of players wanting to link up with Klopp.

The German has taken some of our players and has made them better, with Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino being the best examples. Sadio Mane is another player that has reached new heights and there is belief that the Senegal star will only get better this season after scoring three goals in as many Premier League games this season already.

There will be a number of fans who will be upset at the fact that Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t do much, as his former side lost 4-0 at Anfield. However, playing for Klopp should have a positive effect on him. Henderson is another player who has gotten better with time and with the Ox being only 24, there is a lot of time in his hands.

Oxlade-Chamberlain also moved to Liverpool in hopes of playing in the midfield but he can be used out wide on the wings too. Most of Klopp’s signings have worked out a treat for us and with the Ox being committed by taking a pay-cut too, we might have made one of the shrewdest pieces of business in this transfer window.
