The international break is normally a period of relaxation for club fans and also a time for prayers to ensure our top players don’t come back injured. Fortunately, this break has been great for Liverpool as we not only came out unscathed, we also saw the rise of one of the most promising players in Ben Woodburn.
The 17-year-old Welsh international scored a spectacular goal for the national side as they defeated Austria 1-0 and then came off the bench to tee up the opening goal for the side in their 2-0 win over Moldova. The teenager was crucial in both victories and seems to have set Wales through for a second placed finish in their World Cup qualifying group.
Woodburn might not have played a senior game for us this season but that has not stopped the accolades from coming in. The 17-year-old did his bit for us last season as he stepped up while Sadio Mane was away and Philippe Coutinho was injured. We believe he has a lot to offer this season too, thanks to the increased number of fixtures we have this season.
The Welsh star is the next big thing in our team and with so much being said about him, here are some of the best reactions on Twitter, to the 17-year-old’s performance.
