“On this rate EL is waiting us” – Fans React To Liverpool’s Frustrating 1-1 Draw vs Spartak

Liverpool produced another frustrating display, this time away from home, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Spartak Moscow.

We were in the driving seat for most of the game and for the first time this season, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho started a game together. However, even after dominating the early exchanges, we gave away a debatable free-kick which Spartak took advantage of.

Loris Karius should have done better in trying to keep the strike out but Fernando made no mistake with his chance in the 23rd minute. We did hit back immediately with Coutinho finishing off a brilliant one-two with Mane and bringing us level in the game.

The onslaught started then and we had numerous chances to kill the game off. Mane, Salah and even substitute Daniel Sturridge were guilty of missing guilt-edged chances and we were left to rue just how we didn’t finish the game with three points.

While defensively we didn’t have much to do, it is another kick in the teeth as more questions are being asked about us. Jurgen Klopp looked extremely angry at the end of the game and even though we didn’t get a couple of clear cut penalties, we did more than enough to have scored at least 5 goals against the Russian side.

Liverpool still sit in second place in the Champions League group with Sevilla leading but the next game against Maribor is a must win if we have any hopes of making it to the knockout round.

It’s safe to say that the fans were a little upset with the result and here are some of the reactions to another disappointing night of football.
