“Out for eight weeks” – Injured Liverpool Youngster Reveals The Duration Of His Absence On Twitter

Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo is a devastated man as he announced that he would be out of action for eight weeks after picking up a shoulder injury. The Reds youngster is currently on loan at the Championship club Fulham.

The 20-year-old England youth international is on a season-long loan and was hurt during last week’s Championship clash with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road. Ojo had to be stretchered off in the 55th

minute of the match as he fell awkwardly on his left shoulder after the winger had a coming together with QPR centre-back Joel Lynch.

The Reds youngster was taken to the hospital immediately where it was announced that the player had dislocated his shoulder. Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic revealed this after the game and Ojo has now taken to Twitter to confirm the amount of action he will miss.

“Absolutely gutted to be out for eight weeks,” he tweeted. “Another setback but I’ll be back stronger 100%. Rehab has already started! Thanks for the support.”

The youngster already had encountered injury problems in his career after he was hampered by a stress fracture in his back last year. That fracture meant that Ojo’s presence on the field was limited to one start and one substitute outing under Jurgen Klopp.

However, he had a very successful outing with England at the Under-20s World Cup in South Korea. Following that, there was a lot of demand for his services and eventually, Ojo opted to join Fulham on loan, in search of regular game time.

Prior to this injury, Ojo had made 5 Championship appearances for the Cottagers this season. He had registered one assist during this period and was slowly establishing himself in the first-team.

The youngster has had prior loan experiences with Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers. It is believed that he would break into the first-team setup at Anfield very soon. Klopp rates him very highly and feels that with this exposure at Craven Cottage, he would return as a better player.

There is never a good time for injuries but Ojo could have done without this injury at a time when he was beginning to show his true potential. Let’s hope he comes back stronger from this latest setback.
