Out-of-favour Liverpool Attacker Ready To Make January Loan Move – 4 Premier League Clubs Interested

Danny Ings

Liverpool are ready to let their injury-plagued striker Danny Ings move on loan in the winter transfer window with a view of letting the player revive his fortunes after career-threatening injuries. According to the latest reports from The Mirror, the English striker is ready to seek a temporary exit in the January window to regain lost momentum.

I wouldn’t blame you if you cannot remember the last time Ings played regularly for the first-team. It was at the start of the 2015/16 season, just after he made the move from Burnley to Liverpool.

However, injuries plagued the striker for the most part of last season as he has made just four appearances under the German so far; a total of just 92 minutes. Klopp already has a wealth of options up front with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, and Dominic Solanke ahead of Ings in the pecking order.

With the Reds already knocked out of the League Cup in September, Klopp could be forced to make do with his best set of players. That leaves Ings with no potential game time which is why the former Burnley striker is looking for a loan deal.

The club management is not averse to sending him on loan either, as long as the 25-year-old can’t force his way into Klopp’s plans. Ings is bidding for a place in England’s World Cup squad. He made his England bow just before his injury blow but is confined to just a solitary cap. In the interim, Harry Kane has emerged as Gareth Southgate’s undisputed No. 9.

There are reports in the media that there is a growing line of interested clubs to take Ings on loan in January. Newcastle United, Southampton, Crystal Palace and even Watford have been credited with an interest. Ings has been turning out for Liverpool U23s after recovering from his knee injury which he picked up last November. He has scored just once in six appearances for the U23s but has been impressive with his form.

If there are worries that Ings may seek a move away from Anfield, the England international has indicated that his long-term goal is to be a success at Liverpool

.

“When you are at a club like Liverpool, it is not a club that you want to walk away from,” he said.

“It would grate on me for the rest of my career, and the rest of my life, if I had not done everything to give it my all.

“I still feel like I have a big part to play in this football club.”

A loan move is just what Ings needs at this point, especially with him not receiving enough game time at Anfield right now. If he does make a temporary move to a Premier League club instead of a Championship club, it might very well turn out to be helpful to the attacker.
